Rivers Inlet Sportsman's Club Fly In Salmon Fishing Lodge - About Us

WOW! I can hardly believe that we are celebrating our 25th season at the Rivers Inlet Sportsman's Club in 2008. To celebrate, we have several exciting events planned. The first event is a Thursday to Sunday $25,000 Fishing Derby July 3-6, 2008, followed by a $25,000 Fishing Derby July 6 through September 4, 2008!

I would like to share with you some of the history of our family owned and operated fly-in fishing lodge. The above photo shows my two sons with me at the lodge in 2007. Dominic, on the right, started this trophy salmon fly-in fishing lodge with me in 1984. We had three buildings at the time, and Dominic worked tirelessly to prepare the lodge for the season by scraping and painting the two older buildings, and helping fit the new dining room/kitchen/guest lounge building. He maintained the lodge and worked as a guide along with my business partner at the time, Martin Dowling.

By 1990, Dominic had completed his university degree, qualified as a pharmacist, and was pursuing his career. At that time, Simon joined the team permanently in sales, marketing and the guiding areas. Today, Cathy, Simon and I work throughout the off-season in the sales office.

As you browse our website, you will see we have built Rivers Inlet Sportsman's Club into a world-class floating fishing lodge. How many buildings are there now? Our accommodations, boats, and gear are first class, as are the hearty, gourmet meals. No expense has been spared to make our fishing lodge a place you will want to return to for years and years. We are grateful to our loyal and supportive guests over all these 25 years.
